Piano scales from 2021

The updated scale requirements from 2021 are the result of extensive development work and valuable consultation with teachers. There is now a more logical and gradual progression, from Initial Grade through to Grade 8. The requirements are fewer in number overall, making them more manageable for preparation and assessment. However, they still maintain the rigour expected from ABRSM exams by focusing on tasks that are appropriate to each grade in their level of demand.
